Ride Through Historic Trails and Stunning Icelandic Landscapes
The “Between Meadow and Mountain” ride takes you through some of South Iceland’s most scenic areas, where green meadows, crystal-clear rivers, and majestic mountains meet. We begin at the Vellir farm and ride along gentle trails through open farmland, then follow the Gljúfurá river toward the iconic Ingólfsfjall – named after Iceland’s first permanent settler.
Along the way, we travel historic paths and ride along the slopes of Reykjafjall, enjoying panoramic views of the town of Hveragerði, surrounding volcanic peaks, and the ocean on the horizon. The ride lasts about 2.5–3 hours and is ideal for intermediate riders looking for a relaxing yet memorable adventure through varied terrain.
This ride gives you the opportunity to experience both the tamed and wild sides of Iceland – all just about a 45-minute drive from Reykjavík.
If you choose the pick-up option, departure from Reykjavík is at 08:00 – please be ready by 07:45. Expect to return to Reykjavík around 1:30 PM.
