How would you like to enjoy a warm soothing dip in the hot geothermal floating pools, while being surrounded by the beautiful and astonishing paradise, that is Lake Urriðavatn?
Build in 2019, Vök Baths is Iceland’s newest geothermal destination, build within and surrounded by the lake Urridavatn. Vök Baths is Iceland’s first and only series of floating pools.
Throughout the centuries, people living around Lake Urriðavatn started noticing certain spots not freezing, when the lake froze. Initially they thought that the reason to these spots, was, that a monster lived at the bottom of the lake, and that it would melt or break the ice, causing these spots.
The reason to these icefree spots (also known as Vök in Icelandic) are the underwater hot springs.
Hot springs are found all over Iceland, but they are somewhat of a rarity, when it comes to the eastern part of the country.
While visiting Vök Baths, make sure you go and check out the bistro and tea bar, where you will be able to enjoy locally sourced herbal teas and delicious food.
Don't miss out on this brand-new adventure, where you can go for a nice soothing soak, in these hot floating pools at Lake Urriðavatn.
