Explore the great Vatnajökull glacier on this magnificent Skaftafell glacier hike
This glacier tour in Skaftafell is perfect for those who are looking for a short glacier hike, but breathtaking adventure filled with the beautiful Icelandic nature. On our drive to Falljökul glacier tongue (which is a part of Vatnajökull glacier), we will pass stunning scenery with astonishing natural contrasts. You will see everything from soft and delicate vegetation to enormous and impressive mountains surrounding the magnificent glacier. The drive will take around 15 minutes.
Then we take a 30-minute hike up to Falljökull, surrounded by stunning glacier scenery all the way. When we arrive at Falljökul glacier tongue, we will put on our crampons and step on to the ice! Our guides will explain everything you will need to know about the giant glacier. On the glacier hike you will experience incredible crevasses, great moulins, ice sculptures and stunning ice falls. This is a whole new world, where you will be able to experience the true force of the Icelandic nature.
